Queer-Crafted

Baking with a hint of chaos

We blend high-end pastry discipline with nostalgic Filipino flavours, creating unapologetically bold, lactose-free cheesecakes in Langley, BC.

Our Origin

Welcome to Screaming Willow Bakes

Screaming Willow Bakes was born out of a love for small-batch treats, deep roots and baking with big feelings.

What started in our home kitchen in Langley, BC, has always been about more than just butter and sugar—it’s a celebration of who we are. Our menu is a reflection of our home: a place where Filipino culture meets deep Canadian roots. You’ll taste those blended traditions in everything we make: from vibrant Ube Cheesecake to nostalgic, classic Nanaimo Bars. Every flavour tells a story of memory, connection and family traditions passed down and reimagined.

As a proudly queer-owned bakery, being authentic and creating space for joy is at the heart of everything we do. We believe food has a way of bringing people together, grounding us in community and making us feel seen.

Whether you’re picking up a box of treats for a special celebration or just indulging a weekend craving, thank you for letting us share a piece of our story, our heritage and our hearts with you.

Handcrafted with love & big feelings,

Ash & Matt

Rooted in community: Building our Third Space

If you’ve stopped by our farmers' market tent, you already know what Screaming Willow Bakes is all about: the smell of fresh-baked treats, a little dark humor and the radical care we bake into everything we make. Every week, you show up, share your stories and remind us why food is so magical—it makes us feel seen, safe and less alone.

But community shouldn’t have a season and our vision goes far beyond a weekend market tent.

We are actively working toward opening a permanent, brick-and-mortar late-night cafe—a true "queer third space" operating from 3:00 PM to midnight.

We’re building an inclusive, judgment-free haven for our community and allies. We picture a cozy, chill spot where you can study late into the evening, pull up a chair to play tabletop games with friends, bring someone for a low-pressure date night, or enjoy a late-night dessert without the noise of a bar. It’s designed as a space where you can leave your heavy armor at the door, grab a comforting treat and just exist as you are.

Every pre-order, every market visit, and every bit of support helps us build this next chapter. Thank you for dreaming big with us and helping us keep the oven lights on just a little bit later.
